Who I am
This website, trishsimone.com, is run by Trish Simone, a personal stylist and social media specialist. In this policy, "I", "me" and "my" mean Trish Simone.
I am the data controller for the personal information collected through this website. This means I decide how and why it is used.
If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email me at hello@trishsimone.com.
What information I collect
I only collect information you choose to give me, plus basic data about how the website is used.
Enquiry form: your name, email address, your message and any details you choose to include.
Updates sign-up: your first name and email address.
Website usage: cookies and basic analytics, such as pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location. See the Cookies section below.
Please don't include sensitive information, such as health details, in your messages.
How and why I use your information
UK data protection law requires a legal reason, called a lawful basis, for each use of your information.
To reply to your enquiry and discuss my services. It's in my legitimate interests to respond to people who contact me about my work, or you've asked me to take steps before we agree to work together.
To send you news and updates. I only do this with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing or emailing me.
To run, secure and improve the website. It's in my legitimate interests to keep the site working, secure and useful. Non-essential cookies are only used with your consent.
I will never sell your information or share it with anyone for their own marketing.
I don't use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
Who processes your information
I use a small number of trusted services to run this website and handle your messages:
Squarespace hosts this website, processes form submissions and stores a copy of them. It also sets the website's cookies. Read Squarespace's Privacy Policy.
My email provider receives form submissions in my inbox so I can reply to you.
Some of these services may store or process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, they use legal safeguards approved under UK law, such as standard contractual clauses.
I will only share your information with anyone else if the law requires me to.
How long I keep your information
I keep your information for as long as I need it for the reasons set out above, for example while we're in contact or working together, and to meet tax and legal requirements. I regularly review what I hold and delete anything I no longer need. You can ask me to delete your information at any time.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
ask for a copy of the information I hold about you
ask me to correct anything that's wrong
ask me to delete your information
ask me to limit how I use it, or object to how I use it
ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere
withdraw your consent to updates at any time
To use any of these rights, email hello@trishsimone.com. I'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. I'd appreciate the chance to put things right first, so please contact me before going to the ICO.
Cookies
This website uses cookies, which are small files stored on your device. Some are essential to make the site work. Others, such as analytics cookies, are only used if you accept them through the cookie banner.
This website is hosted by Squarespace, which sets two types of cookies:
Essential cookies keep the site secure and working, for example by remembering your cookie choice. These can't be switched off.
Analytics cookies come from Squarespace's built-in analytics and show me how many people visit and which pages they view. I only see overall figures, not who you are. These are only set if you accept them.
I don't use advertising or social media tracking cookies. Cookies on this site last from a single visit up to two years.
You can change your choice at any time through the cookie banner, or by clearing cookies in your browser. For the full list, see the cookies Squarespace uses.Keeping your information safe
I take reasonable steps to protect your information, including using secure, password-protected accounts. No method of sending data over the internet is completely secure, but I work to keep your information as safe as I can.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time, for example if I start using new tools. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
